GRETNA GATEWAY CELEBRATES TRADING SUCCESS
Premier Scottish designer outlet village, Gretna Gateway has announced that three new retailers are set to open at its Dumfriesshire site.
Snow and surf board clothing and accessory company, Quiksilver opened a 2,196 sq ft store earlier this month, while sports and leisurewear specialists, Streetwise have also agreed terms on a 6,258 sq ft unit on site. The Subway Sandwich company will also be taking a 709 sq ft unit which will sell the brand's famous range of sandwiches and salads. The three retailers join names such as LK Bennett, Polo Ralph Lauren, Marks and Spencer, Episode and TAG Heuer at the outlet village and take the number of stores trading at Gretna Gateway to 53.
The new additions also mean that the Gretna Gateway's £8 million expansion which opened last November adding an extra 50,000 sq ft of trading space, is now over 90% let.
The announcement comes as Gretna Gateway revealed a 70% rise in sales for the year to date. Ray Terrafranca, Managing Director of Northridge capital, owners of Gretna Gateway said; "We're obviously delighted with the success of the outlet village and are particularly pleased at the interest shown in Phase 2 of the development - In addition to a substantial sales increase, our visitor numbers are also up by almost 60%.
"Gretna Gateway is in an ideal position to take advantage of a number of high spending markets from Scotland and the North East and North West of England and we're confident that this, combined with an impressive store mix will mean continued success for the outlet village," he said.
